Digital Dimension behind the production of short film Think Deep.

The world premier of short film Think Deep by Director Peter Skovsbo will take place at the 19th Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal from 14 July to 4 August.

Official selection in competition, the film produced by Digital Dimension will be shown on 30th July 2015 at 9.20pm as part of the “sursauts vitaux” collection, 15 films that are all as off the wall as each other.

This seven minute thriller tells the story of Marc as he conspires with his mistress to murder his wife. The two lovers quickly learn the painful futility of words.

The project was the brainchild of Peter Skovsbo, senior producer at Digital Dimension who has a 16 year track record producing over 100 visual effects projects ranging in scale from the web to TV, feature length and IMAX films. With a strong background in screenwriting across the genres as well in directing short films, Peter decided in late 2015 to direct Think Deep, a project he has nurtured for a while.

“I was mulling this idea over in my head of a woman who finds herself alone in a car with the husband of her so-called best friend, with the goal of stealing her man. Without giving away the ending, the idea that everything could go wrong has always been the theme driving the story” confides Peter Skovsbo.

Think Deep is in line with Digital Dimension’s policy of encouraging their staff to initiate projects and generate their own content. When Peter presented his story to DD’s management team, the company was in the process of wrapping up a collaboration with Director Nathan Hendrickson on his film, The Hollow One. Nathan was looking for a visual effects house as well as a producing partner for his feature length horror movie that had just been selected for the Seattle Film Festival.

Bolstered by its expertise in projects with significant visual effects work, Digital Dimension is looking to get involved in projects with a solid story line and excellent characterization. “The story is the most important thing, we want to work on projects that speak to us, that prompt discussion between friends after the show.” states Louis-Simon Ménard, head of the board and executive producer at Digital Dimension.

Written by Peter Skovsbo and his writing partner Vincent Cloutier, Think Deep is just the beginning of a broader collaboration envisaged between Digital Dimension and its senior producer who is gearing up to wear the director’s hat once again; details to follow.

So don’t miss your chance to attend the premier of Think Deep and to meet its creators on July 30th at 9.20pm at La Grande Bibliothèque in Montreal.
