Montreal, Canada, July 29 2016 – Among the many projects Digital Dimension worked on so far in 2016, the last to hit the screen is the feature film LEAGUE OF GODS. Digital Dimension had the pleasure to work with Mokko Studio to create visual effects for project. Produced by Star Entertainment Group and distributed by Sony Pictures for the North American market, the film features the international star Jet Li.
After the movie RED CLIFF and ZU WARRIORS, it was a return to a production from Hong Kong for Digital Dimension artists. On Koan Hui first film (writer of Black Mask, Time and Tide) the Mile-End based company has worked on about 40 shots. Whether to create matte painting, set extensions and other visual effects, around twenty studio employees touched the project to create the surreal world in which the film takes place.
“Working on LEAGUE OF GODS was a nice challenge for the whole team. The time devoted to create a completely surreal universe was appreciated by all artists. It was very pleasant to work with Mokko Studio; they were always very collaborative and since both studios are based in Montreal, it greatly facilitated our discussions.” tells Nadja Leblanc, Project Manager at Digital Dimension.
The movie features the action star Jet Li (Expandables), Tony Ka Fai Leung (The Lover) and Bingbing Fan (X-Men: Days of Future Past) is based on the 16th-century Chinese novel Feng Shen Yan Yi (The Investiture of the Gods). The story tells of how King Zhou of Shang becomes a tyrant due to the wiles of Daji, a vixen spirit who is disguised as one of his concubines.
