About the position

Reporting to the CTO and with a team of 5 people, the IT lead participates in the development and execution of the infrastructure and operational security strategy. He provides solutions to IT infrastructure problems, anticipates needs and ensures IT support for all customers in the Montreal and Quebec City studios.

In addition to ensuring the effective day-to-day management of operations and the quality of services offered, he develops a long-term vision of the team in order to achieve the expected results, while promoting a local management style that encourages agility, innovation and the development of a DevOps culture. Through his/her leadership, he/she must create a conducive environment for development and excellence within the team, to mobilize it to support the organization’s growth.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the infrastructure is operational for all ongoing projects ;
  • Participate in the development of the strategy, to support the company’s strong growth at several operating sites ;
  • Monitor and supervise the IT team (development and growth) ;
  • Manage security and make sure the company’s security policy and disaster recovery plan evolves ;
  • Install, configure and maintain company equipment, in collaboration with a team of system administrators and IT technicians ;
  • Manage the arrival and departure of employees on-site or remotely;
  • Support users for all technological needs and ensure follow-up ;
  • Manage the hardware and software inventory ;
  • Manage the IT budget in collaboration with the CTO ;
  • Manage network equipment, ensure its proper operation and monitor its life cycle;
  • Ensure the administration and management of the system, security, monitoring, and capacity planning;
  • Document and manage standard operating procedures ;
  • Manage the continuity and availability of critical services including render farm, storage, networking, etc ;
  • Ensure technological monitoring and participate in the long-term strategic plan ;
  • Participate in change management, analyzing the impacts of projects on infrastructure capacity, availability, and continuity.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in information technology, including 3 years in a medium and large team management role ;
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in infrastructure and operational security ;
  • Advanced experience in Linux system administration (CentOS) ;
  • Knowledge of Windows and Mac systems administration ;
  • Strong experience in proprietary (DellETM) and open source (Ceph, GlusterFS) storage solutions ;
  • Proven experience in architecture, configuration, and operation of multi-site and hybrid (cloud/on-premises) networks with LDAP domain controller, firewall pfsense ;
  • Strong experience in virtualization environment (KVM) and container orchestration (Swarm, Kubernetes) ;
  • Experience in GPU rendering/calculation farm solutions ;
  • Experience in server room configuration and management ;
  • Experience in bash scripting and python programming.
