Description

– Develop high-end in-house software and/or compile, debug and adapt other programmers’ codes in order to integrate them to existing tools;

– Implement and adapt technical papers;

– Automate information exchange between applications;

– Write scripts and create various tools to support pipeline production involving different software (Houdini, Softimage, Maya, 3DS Max, Nuke, Arnold, Mantra, Mental Ray…).

REQUIREMENTS 

– Excellent knowledge of C++, Python, Jscript;

– Is comfortable learning new languages (we mostly work with Fabric Engine’s KL language) and new software SDKs;

– Strong in mathematics;

– Bachelor’s degree in computer science;

– Excellent understanding of 3D in general (modeling, light, simulation);

– Familiar with at least one 3D animation software, preferably Softimage, Maya or Houdini;

– Communicate and work well in a close-knit team environment;

– Positive and team oriented;

– Must be able to provide technical support to artists.

ADDITIONAL

– Experience with Fabric Engines’ KL language, Houdini and/or Softimage ICE;

– Shader writing experience (Mental Ray and/or Arnold preferably – other renderers like Mantra, VRay or Renderman also an asset) and/or GPU programming (Cuda and/or OpenCL);

– Experience in performance optimizations;

– Familiar with compression algorithms;

– Masters degree in computer science;

– Experience film and VFX industry is an asset.
