Purpose of the job:

The Recruiting Manager is responsible for managing the Canadian/U.S. recruiting department at Digital Domain. This role serves as a liaison between Recruiting/Artist Management and manages the execution of our hiring initiatives. The Recruiting Manager ensures the recruiting team is following best employment practices, ensures the team provides the best quality service to our prospective employees, meets the staffing requirements of our productions and works to develop efficiency and effectiveness in the hiring process. This role may be required to recruit for a variety of production and corporate based roles as well as be assigned to unique staffing and organizational projects based needs as they arise. As an Ambassador for Digital Domain this role continually works within the VFX and Animation communities to focus on attracting new talent to our organization. Some domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Manages all recruitment efforts and processes for North America
  • Implements strategic hiring procedures as well as improves upon current recruitment measures
  • Partners with digital studio and artist management to confirm and evaluate hiring needs and requirements
  • Manages and oversees the day-to-day activities of the recruiting department
  • Trains, advises and coaches members of recruiting department on effective recruitment processes
  • Interacts with job candidates for all North American studios and/or delegates to members of recruiting team
  • Processes applicant tracking within ATS system
  • Monitors market wages for roles
  • Manages recruitment departmental budget(s)
  • Partners with VP, HR & Recruiting during performance reviews for recruiters
  • Partners with HR to submit offers to successful candidates
  • Attends job fairs etc. to source prospective employees and promote Digital Domains presence

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Must have 3-5 years experience in high volume recruiting in a creative industry.
  • Strong contacts in the VFX and Animation industry to draw upon to fill staffing requirements.
  • Previous personnel management experience.
  • Effective interpersonal communication style.
  • Exceptional organization and demonstrated follow through abilities.

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Office working environment.
  • Hours for this position are based on normal working hours but will require extra hours pending production needs.
  • Walking/bending/sitting
