Job Summary

The Sr. HR Business Partner reports to the HR Director and partner with studio managers to provide comprehensive support in a variety of areas in human resources, including employee relation, performance management, employee development, employee engagement & retention, change management and compensation. The Sr. HRBP will also work in collaboration with the team on benefits, policies, processes, training development and special HR projects.


• Develop and foster relationships with managers to ensure that all employee relations, employee engagement & retention, employee performance and employee development initiatives are supporting Reel FX’s values and strategy
• Partner with managers in change management
• Advise on legal matters around employment regulation and law and take a proactive approach to ensure legal employment practices are maintained and ensuring consistent and fair application of policies
• Assist with crew planning to keep employees moving from one production to the next
• Provides high level of customer service by responding to employee questions
• Involve in the performance review process, including development and performance management plan, reward and recognition
• Ensure continuous improvement of our HR processes and policies
• Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office
• Participate in various HR projects


• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field required.
• Fluent in French and English
• 8 years of experience as an HR Business Partner; experience in the animation, gaming or VFXindustry an asset
• High degree of ethics, integrity and confidentiality
• A solid understanding of Quebec Employment Standards and Federal Human Rights Legislation
• Proven ability to resolve complex problems and facilitate collaborative solutions
• Able to communicate effectively and comfortably with all levels within organization
• Ability to understand the business and to promote effective HR strategies that support business objectives
• Ability to function both independently and as part of a team in a multitask environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to multi-task and prioritize
