Do you have a technical mind with an interest in Animation? As TD Animator, you will work closely with the animation, pipeline and rigging teams to bring technical solutions to a wide range of production challenges.

As the Animation TD, your primary focus is to maximize the efficiency of our artists in the Animation Department. While in this role, you will collaborate directly with the Animation Department Supervisor, Leads and CG Supervisor, to lead the way in animation tools development.


  • Develop, deploy, and maintain pipeline tools in Maya, to assist the Animation team with immediate and future production needs;
  • Test current and newly developed tools to ensure operational quality, and oversee their effective use by the artists;
  • Be a primary point of contact for the Rigging and Pipeline teams, in order to facilitate the needs of the Animation team
  • Provide input and support to Pipeline Development team in software tool development and debugging
  • Troubleshoot scenes in Maya and/or MotionBuilder, and communicate with any intersecting departments to ensure issues are resolved


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in Rigging, with additional experience in Layout and/or Animation
  • Strong knowledge of Maya
  • Strong knowledge Python
  • Knowledge of Mel (an asset)
  • Knowledge of MotionBuilder (an asset)
  • Knowledge of Unreal (an asset)
  • Knowledge of C ++ (an asset)
  • Experience in a production environment TV series, film or video game (an asset)
  • Experience developing and integrating tools into a pipeline;
  • Focused on problem solving
  • Good communication skills on technical and creative aspects
  • Ability to create and maintain technical guides
