Description

BUF Compagnie, French pioneer in special effects for cinema and advertising, is now looking for a Production Coordinator for its Montreal facility.

The coordinator is a key resource for production that acts as a link between members of different management, production and artists teams.

The role is to facilitate the transition of shots through the pipeline, and to put in place strategies to ensure that all objectives leading to delivery of the project are met on time.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and participate in daily team meetings (dailies) and conduct artist rounds to relay relevant information

  • Tightly follow up with artists to ensure individual objectives are met and reduce overtime

  • Manage the import of client’s production material, organize reference material and carry out client deliveries

  • In collaboration with producers and supervisors, establish production’s schedules and strategies to achieve the timely and financial objectives of each show delivery

  • Assist the producer with client’s reports by keeping the project database up to date as well as maintain an accurate summary of progress of the show

  • Anticipate potential problems that may hinder the achievement of production’s goals

  • Help maintain a positive, upbeat and professional work environment by adopting a proactive and solution-orientated attitude and collaborating with every team member

Profile

  • Enthusiasm for the cinema industry and previous experience in production coordination (1-2 years minimum), ideally in the VFX industry

  • Thorough understanding of live-action and CG based visual effects workflows

  • Very good knowledge of MS Office suites, including Excel and Word (familiar with Linux: an asset)

  • Desire to take on increasingly challenging work

  • Leadership, team spirit and good interpersonal and communication skills including effective written and verbal skills in both French and English

  • Capability to learn, adapt quickly, multitask and work under pressure

  • Ability to prioritize and organizational / project management skills

  • Flexible and positive attitude

Full-time position located in Montreal.

Salary to be discussed according to profile and experience.
