Description du poste:

Sous la supervision du Directeur de l’animation, le Chef équipe animation est responsable de l’orientation d’une équipe d’animateurs du projet. Il doit fournir à son équipe l’encadrement nécessaire pour atteindre ses objectifs artistiques tout en respectant les délais de production. Il apporte son expertise tant sur le plan technique qu’artistique pour mener à bien la réalisation du projet. Il supporte le Directeur d’animation et veille à ce que l’homogénéité de l’animation soit respectée.

 

Responsabilités:

  • Trouver la meilleure approche et la technique adéquate pour effectuer les tâches;
  • Tenir l’échéancier et les quotas de production en accord avec l’équipe de coordination;
  • Informer son équipe des changements et nouveautés relatifs au projet;
  • Former et encadrer les animateurs tout au long de la production;
  • Faire un retour à chaque artiste sur ses performances;
  • Participer activement à la sélection des nouveaux artistes;
  • Soutenir et faciliter l’intégration des nouveaux employés;
  • Veiller à ce que la ligne directrice du Directeur d’animation soit respectée tout au long de la production;
  • Mettre en place tout document ou support qui aide à la productivité de l’équipe avec l’accord du Directeur d’animation;
  • Effectuer d’autres tâches connexes telles qu’assignées par la direction;

 

Compétences exigées:

  • Détenir un diplôme d’études collégiales en infographie 3D / spécialisation animation 3D;
  • Avoir au moins cinq (5) à sept (7) ans d’expérience en animation keyframe;
  • Avoir au moins deux (2) ans d’expérience en tant que Chef d’équipe animation;
  • Avoir une excellente connaissance de Maya;
  • Avoir des connaissances en rigging est un atout;
  • Être à l’aise avec l’environnementLinux/ Unix ;
  • Connaitre un asset manager comme Shotgun est un atout;
  • Posséder une bonne connaissance de l’anglais et du français tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit;
  • Avoir la capacité de gérer une équipe de travail;
  • Être capable de former et de guider les membres de son équipe;
  • Être à l’écoute de son équipe, des autres superviseurs et des coordinateurs;

Job description:

Under the supervision of the Animation Director, the Lead Animator is responsible for helping guide a team of animators throughout the project. He is in charge of giving the necessary coaching to his team in order to reach the artistic objectives set by the Animation Director while maintaining the production schedule. The Lead Animator brings his expertise, both technically and artistically, to help successfully complete the project. He supports the Animation Director and ensures that the homogeneity of the animation is respected.

Responsibilities:

  • Find the best approach and technique to perform the tasks at hand;
  • Develop, manage and maintain timing and production quotas in accordance with the coordination team;
  • Inform the team about changes and news related to the project;
  • Train and lead the team throughout production;
  • Give feedback to each artist regarding their performance;
  • Actively participate in the selection of new artists;
  • Support and facilitate the integration of new employees;
  • Ensure that the guidelines set by the Animation Director are respected throughout production;
  • Put in place documentation or support in accordance with the Animation Director to help the team’s productivity;
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management;

 

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or equivalent in 3D computer graphics / 3D animation specialization;
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of work experience in keyframe animation;
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Lead Animator;
  • Excellent knowledge of Maya;
  • Rigging experience is a plus;
  • Comfortable working in a LINUX / UNIX environment;
  • Knowledge of an asset manager such as SHOTGUN is a plus;
  • Bilingual (English and French);
  • Ability to manage a team;
  • Ability to train and guide a team;
  • Must be responsive to the team, the other supervisors and coordinators;
