L’Atelier Animation is an animation studio created in 2012 that specializes in the creation of 3D feature films.
The producers of Ballerina and l’Atelier are looking for new talents: Art Director, Concept Artists, Storyboard Artists… to work on their next 3D feature film. Set in New York City in the 1930s, The Bravest takes place within the world of firefighters.
Job description:
Under the supervision of the Director and the Line Producer and in collaboration with the 3D Supervisor, the Storyboard Artist illustrates the narrative, plan shots and draw panels to demonstrate action and maintain continuity between scenes of a 3D feature film. The artist must always reflect and interpret the original intention of the script.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating shots and sequences that dictate the action, timing, character movement and camera placement;
- Follow instructions given by the Director;
- Ensure storyboards align with the creative goals and vision of the 3D feature film;
- Execute the corrections requested by showing an analytic mind;
- Maintain the schedule and quotas given by the Line Producer or Production Coordinator;
- Assist and participate actively at meetings;
- Complete other related tasks as necessary and as asked for by management;
Qualifications:
- At least three (3) to five (5) years of work experience in film production/animated series or in visual effects;
- At least three (3) to five (5) years of work experience as a Storyboard Artist;
- Strong knowledge in 2D animation;
- Excellent drawing skills;
- Ability in cinematographic framing;
- Knowledge of at least one of the following software: Photoshop, Storyboard Prod, ToonBoom;
- Knowledge of 3D production is a plus;
- Ability to multi-task and adapt easily to change;
- Ability to work independently;
- Bilingual (English and French);
- Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada and available to work in Montreal, Quebec;
