Episodic Animator

Under the direction of the Animation Supervisor/Lead, the episodic animator is responsible for creating high-quality animated performance and motion for characters and objects based on storyboards, animatics and other visual references, while balancing the need to meet the tighter deadlines of an episodic schedule.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, thorough knowledge of Maya, an understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, texture, and form, and an understanding of typical rigging set-ups, and animation pipelines. They should also be open to direction and be able to embrace change, be reliable, have good timekeeping and have the ability to meet deadlines.

• Create key-frame animation sequences as assigned by the Supervisor/Lead
• Be adaptable, creative, and receptive to direction
• Create lip-sync, facial, and body character animation as well as prop animation
• Remain current and up-to-date in animation techniques
• Consistently meet production goals as assigned by APM/PM team
• Great knowledge of time management to meet deadlines under pressure

• Degree/diploma in fine arts or animation or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Animator (or equivalent) in episodic/television series
• Solid understanding of character animation, acting, cycle, and lip-synching
• Good understanding of strong character posing and acting performance
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
• Proficient with Maya and/or other program, supporting software and tools
• Ability to adjust camera to better composition of shots when requested preferred but not essential
• Able to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas
