Nuke Compositor – Intermediate/Senior

As Nuke Compositor, you will be responsible for fulfilling all tasks related to the compositing of digital and real elements involved in the creation of highly realistic visual effects.

Tasks

• Handle digital compositing tasks, such as pre-compositing, tracking, rotoscoping, matte extraction (keying), color balancing and adjustment, as well as the selection, integration and assembly of real and 3D elements;
• Share your expertise and knowledge in live movies and animation, as well as your ability to create seamless transitions between the original film and the integrated 2D and 3D elements;
• Resolve creative and technical issues as they turn up;
• Coach a nd train other employees in your fields of expertise;
• Work with artists and supervisors in order to make deadlines, as well as meet the client and the internal supervisors’ expectations;
• Other duties, as needed;
• Take on the occasional training task (knowledge sharing) as part of Frima’s professional development program.

Requirements

• A demo showcasing your compositing skills, your attention to detail and quality, your control of lighting and integration, your technical skills, as well as your eye for color and compositing;
• Advanced knowledge of Nuke, good knowledge of Houdini;
• Good eye for compositing, color and design;
• Able to fit into any type of movie and color production pipeline;
• Familiarity with the other facets of production (layout, lighting, visual effects, etc.);
• Creativity, eye for esthetics, solid technical know-how, productivity, and motivation;
• Able to work under pressure and make deadlines while delivering high-quality results that meet expectations;
• Entrepreneurial spirit, problem-solving skills, leadership, and capable of supervising a team.

Training / Experience

• A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience on Nuke as compositor in the field of movie postproduction;
• Training in a relevant field is considered an asset.
