SQUEEZE ANNOUNCES A SECOND SEASON FOR ITS ANIMATED SERIES ‘CRACKÉ’

Quebec City, September 21, 2021 – After winning over millions of fans around the world, on TV and on the Web, the popular animated family series Cracké, created and produced by Squeeze, will have a second season, currently in production in collaboration with Télé-Québec.

Titled Cracké – Family Scramble, this second season focuses on Ed’s family situation: his eight eggs have now hatched and he must now take care of eight energetic babies… and their imagination! With no experience as a father, but brimming with creativity, Ed, our favorite single-parent ostrich dad, has a crazy habit of getting himself into silly, improbable and funny situations. Luckily, his daddy heart and boundless ingenuity get him out of trouble every time, to the delight of his little ones.

“We can’t wait to bring Cracké’s sequel to the public, says Chantal Cloutier, Executive Producer and Head of Squeeze Originals. This is an important evolution for the franchise, with 7 minute episodes instead of 1 minute, new characters and a refreshingly new visual style, rarely seen in 3D animation. This second season echoes the success of the first, which was broadcast in more than 210 countries and territories and has over half a billion views on digital video platforms.

Télé-Québec, a leader in youth and family content, is thrilled to join the adventure: “It is a great pleasure for Télé-Québec to showcase Quebec talents by taking part in this undeniable quality project, filled with color, love and a good dose of humor, which will speak directly to the hearts of all audiences,” expresses Marysol Charbonneau, Director, Youth and Family Programs at Télé-Québec.

PGS Entertainment is leading the international distribution. This fall, Cracké will hit the markets, and will be present at the Cannes International Program Market (MIPCOM) as well as at the MIPJr, which is dedicated to youth and family content. The series will be available in May 2022.

The series Cracké – Family Scramble is directed by Jonathan Simard, a veteran at Squeeze. The production of this second season is made possible thanks to the collaboration of SODEC, the Government of Canada, the Québecor Fund, the City of Quebec, Quebec’s Ministry of Culture and Communications, as well as the Secrétariat de la Capitale-Nationale.
