DISNEY’S “THE MANDALORIAN” WINS 14 EMMYS INCLUDING “OUTSTANDING SPECIAL VISUAL EFFECTS IN A SERIES OR MOVIE”

Hybride, Quebec’s visual effects pioneer and Ubisoft film division, saw the immense talent of its VFX specialists recognized for their participation in the production of Disney’s popular series The Mandalorian by winning “Best visual effects in a series or a film” at the prestigious Creative Arts Emmys, that took place last Sunday in Los Angeles.

It is with great pride that Joseph Kasparian, Creative Vice President and VFX Supervisor at Hybride joined ILM’s Hal Hickel, Animation Supervisor, VFX producer Abbigail Keller and Environments Visual Effects Supervisor Enrico Damm on stage to accept the coveted trophy for The Mandalorian, who won a total of 14 awards during the evening!

“We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this incredible adventure. We are for the confidence Lucasfilm has shown us and feel extremely privileged to have had the chance to showcase the expertise and know-how of our teams by collaborating on the most watched show of all streaming services,” says Joseph Kasparian.

Hybride has produced an impressive total of 883 VFX shots for this 2nd season, which represents the studio’s biggest workload with Disney to date. This is even more impressive considering that almost all the VFX have been completed remotely by the Hybride staff since mid-March 2020.

“We are really proud of the work accomplished on The Mandalorian and we would like to thank our talented team for their dedication, and their insatiable desire to always want to surpass themselves,” concludes Joseph Kasparian.

The honor was presented at the prestigious “Outstanding Artistic and Technical Achievements in Television” event which is a week before the 73rd Emmys, which will be broadcast live from L.A. on September 19 on CBS and Paramount +.
